I believe there are people who are more analytical – mathematicians, engineers, scientists, lawyers, etc. (who have a great logical reasoning what to do). Let’s call them Thinkers. But there are also those who feel their way around in life – artists, musicians, designers, psychologists, athletes (who trust their inner compass and still find their way perfectly). In short, Feelers.
And then there is the third type: Overthinkers – who have a strong inner compass to guide them but instead have been taught out of it by our society hyper focused on data and tangible results. By trying to stay reasonable at all costs, they forego their intuition, making them more lost, instead of better-off.
I am that third type. So are many good people around me. We’re in no man’s land and we’re suffering. We’re too far left on the “I think vs. I feel” scale, way past the healthy critical thinking phase, and we could use some getting back to that inner compass.
My life’s journey is my attempt to go back right and see what happens. Hope it inspires more overthinkers to embrace their inner truth.
I’ve got no advice to give, just my own experience to share but I hope truth will shine through them.
