I did a wonderful thing this week – I stopped working after 4 p.m.
I can’t believe it’s the first time I try that. It has done magic both for my productivity and for my overall sense of freedom.
But I noticed it has a flip side. First, things and people started flooding my free evenings. And second, I’ve been a lot more random in the way I spend my free time.
Switching between different tasks and topics really drains my battery, so I’ve been lacking energy those last few days.
I wanted more free time to focus on what matters. Now that I got the free time, my focus is gone.
But I’m not a quick-to-give-up guy. I’ll get the hang of it. There is something I need to be doing differently.
And I’ll start by going to bed early tonight.
